Last week I wrote about Bernie who hadn’t shed her winter coat. Yesterday I met her owner again. For once, someone has actually listened to what I said! He had weighed her Burns food (“two small bowls”) and found he was giving her 200 grammes twice a day. This is probably twice as much as she needs, and that’s not counting the additional biscuits and chews. It will be interesting to see how she will be in a few weeks.
What’s also interesting is that Bernie isn’t overweight despite getting possibly twice as much food as she be on. Many (most) pet owners think that they can’t be overfeeding as their pet isn’t overweight. Overfeeding causes lots of health problems besides excess weight.
