This is a key indicator of the welfare practices being undertaken by a breeder. If the mother is being looked after properly, this may reflect how your new pup is being cared for too.
Every good breeder will have undertaken health tests and will have proof of this. If these are not present, ask them why. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Ethical breeders will also ask you questions regarding how you will be looking after your pet.
Make sure to look at pet insurance before getting your pet. This will allow you to ensure you can keep up with the cost of your new bundle of joy. Looking at insurance quotes online, you can see what is and isn’t covered by your chosen provider.
Have you looked at possible health conditions associated with a breed? Are you aware of the possible costs of feeding, grooming, toys, visits to the vet and general maintenance of their wellbeing? Do you know how much food and exercise they need? Avoid the unexpected by doing your research on the breed.
