As a veterinary surgeon, John Burns MBE found that he was treating symptoms more often than the cause, and set out to find a more direct solution. What if, instead of treating pets’ illnesses with drugs, there was a natural preventative measure that could be implemented instead?
Burns began his research into holistic dieting: using a balanced diet to improve mental and physical wellbeing. Having studied and practiced the holistic theory on his own diet for several years beforehand, John Burns founded Burns Pet Nutrition based on this same understanding in 1993.
