Despite wild and woolly weather conditions, the turnout for this year’s Dog’s Day Out was impressive.
The magnificent Newfoundlands had the honour of opening the breed parade in the main ring and fun events hosted by Lynne Davies such as the egg and spoon race, 11-legged race and sausage chase followed.
TV’s Robert Alleyne was on hand to judge the fun dog shows and there were lots of participants in the have-a-go agility and fastest recall activities.
Entertainment was kindly provided by the Pontardulais Brass Band who helped to cheer everybody up – especially when the tent they were in fell down (thankfully nobody was hurt).
We would like to pass on a hearty thank you to everyone involved who helped make the day a success and for the various charities and volunteers that gave up their Sunday (when we are sure they would rather have been tucked up on the sofa eating biscuits and watching films). Most of all, we would like to thank all the dog owners and visitors who dragged their furry friends out to participate in this fun day.
All proceeds from the day will be donated to various animal charities.
