Burns Puppy Original Chicken & Rice is formulated to help puppies thrive, with controlled protein and fat to support brain development and reduce the risk of later skeletal issues.
Chicken supplies your puppy with calcium and phosphorus for optimum bone and muscle development, while a mix of wholegrain brown rice, white rice and oats gives your puppy both slow-release and quick energy bursts to play. This recipe also contains chicory extract, a natural prebiotic for gut support, and added omega-3 & 6 fatty acids for brain development.
All Burns diets avoid the use of ingredients that commonly cause intolerance such as beef, wheat, soya and dairy. We also don’t use any artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives.
Please note: While we’re in the process of transitioning products to our new puppy recipe, your packaging may vary. All 2kg packs will be sent with the new recipe details, while all 6kg and 12kg will still be sent with the existing recipe.
The Burns puppy diets are suitable for both puppies and juniors. Please see our feeding guide as we recommend different daily amounts for puppies (up to 6 months old) and juniors (from 6 months to adult). Most puppies are ready to move to adult food at 9-12 months old but if you are unsure please contact our nutrition team.

We now recommend feeding Burns Puppy Original Chicken & Rice up to 12 months of age (previously 9 months).
Extending the feeding period allows puppies to gain a bit more weight before transitioning to our low-fat adult foods, particularly during a time when they are adolescents and very active. Use our Puppy to Junior Feeding Guide to find the perfect amount based on your puppy's weight.
