Can you fill in the missing name here? "When [a vet] realised how many of the pets he saw in his surgery were suffering from diet-related health problems, he decided to do something about it by creating his own veterinary diet." No, it isn’t me from 1993 onwards; it’s another vet who has launched his very own pet food brand. Strange as it seems, most of his promotional material bears a striking resemblance to mine.
First signs of spring
At the weekend I found a crocus in flower in the garden and yesterday, up on Penlan Uchaf, I found the most wonderful show of snowdrops in a little patch of woodland.
"Can spring be far behind?" (Shelley, Ode to the West Wind)
This brings to mind lines from Grey’s “Elegy in a Country Churchyard”
"Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air."
Isn’t it a little arrogant to think that flowers (or all things in nature) are there primarily for man’s benefit?
