Here’s a great animal story which I missed last month.
Last weekend I was reading The Sheep-Pig by Dick King Smith’s (which was the basis for the film Babe) to grandson Jack. Yesterday by way of coincidence Mike our newspaper delivery man told me about a piglet which was doing dog agility. Louie, a pot-belly cross, lives in Porthmadoc in North Wales and he has learned to join in with the dogs on the agility course. His owner takes him to agricultural shows to give demonstrations.
Today is D-day for the vote to decide whether the Welsh Assembly government should have more legislative powers. I’ve voted for the change; I believe in local accountability and find it hard to understand why anyone would prefer not to have more say in their lives. It’s not as if Westminster has a great record anyway. Certain political figures whose views I don’t care for, such as UKIP are in the “No” camp so that’s good enough for me to vote Yes.
The rain has stopped.
