Dear Burns

We were advised to try Burns food when our first dog, a black Labrador retriever, was very excitable. A lower protein food, we were told, might help with this. We tried Burns and did notice an improvement in our dog’s behaviour. The other thing we noticed was that we were constantly complemented on keeping our now spayed Lab so slim and fit. Of course a lot of exercise helps with both the behaviour and the weight control but she is a typical Lab, eats all kinds of rubbish that she finds and almost never gets an upset tummy, so we have always stuck with it.

Four years on, we have just acquired a new puppy. She is a cross between a Lab and a Viszla (accidental, not designer) and when we got her, her tummy was decidedly upset. I was advised to continue with the food she'd been weaned onto, which I did for a week. When there was no improvement, I decided to buy a bag of Burns puppy bites and gradually introduced those. Around the same time the vet who did the puppy's vaccinations said she'd seen a lot of Labradors with gluten intolerance, so it all made sense to give a wheat free food a try. Suffice to say the results are very satisfactory. The puppy adjusted to the much smaller meals within a day or so, she lost her bloated appearance and started producing something that looked a lot healthier, for me to scoop! She's got bags of energy and the little puppy bites also make an ideal training treat. When we get seriously into training we'll keep back a small handful of her daily food for treats, so as not to overfeed.

All round we would recommend Burns food for any and all dogs. You really do not need all those flavourings and colourings other manufacturers add.

I write in praise of Burns dog food. 

I had a border collie bitch fed exclusively on Burns dog food from a puppy; we gave her nothing else.  She was a lovely dog and remained full of energy and was very well save for the last year when she developed arthritis and cataracts in both eyes.  All who met her remarked at how fit and well she was for her age.  I eventually had to have her put to sleep last November two weeks before her 18th birthday.

I now have a 5 month old border collie dog and he is being fed on Burns mini bites.  He is full of fun and energy with a glossy coat and bright eyes.  I hope he will be with me for some years to come and am confident that he will do very well on Burns.

I am writing to compliment you how much your food has changed our dogs (for the better!)   Cleo (Parsons Russell Terrier):   We got Cleo from a private seller who was threatening to just dump her on the streets. She had very poor coat condition and just didn't seem a "typical Terrier". After reading many reviews on your food we decided to try it and we haven't looked back!! She is a very happy and bouncy Terrier with a glossy coat and wonderful skin with bags of energy and happiness!! It took no time at all to see a huge difference in her and we are so grateful, with the right diet, she has become the dog she is today :-)  Molly (Rescue Greyhound):  We found Molly at a local dog rescue, she was a bag of bones (vet said she was 6kg underweight) and very nervous and timid. We already had our Terrier, Cleo, and she was already on your food so automatically gave Molly the same food as we had such a good experience with Cleo. It literally took what seemed no time at all to see a complete change in her. Waggy tail, shiny coat, weight gain, bright eyes etc We are so so grateful as with the help of the correct diet she has learnt to trust us and become the dog she is today.  We are so grateful to you for making our dogs the dogs they are whom we love and adore. They are both literally THRIVING on your food!!  We have used your food for about 2 years and wouldn't think about changing it and would highly recommend it to every dog owner!!  Thank you so so much :-)

Hello.

Just thought I'd let you know how Billie is progressing. Brilliantly, the change of food after initial weight loss has been so beneficial to her, she is obviously feeling so much better, her grumpiness and lack of concentration have disappeared and as if prove a point she qualified for the first time at a working trial and won a trophy for best percentage nosework marks including beating very experienced dogs all in one weekend. I think that hopefully now we can continue to move forward as at least the food I'm feeding her isn't causing her any further problems.

Hi, Just like you say our pleased our girls, Treacle (mum) and Honey (daughter), love your lamb and chicken with brown rice pet food. They are Cavalier King Charles breed, who are always hungry. Thanks to Burns, we can now control their weight, and give them dried food they truly love. We feed them three times a day, and they empty their bowls immediately, without even looking up. They are a difficult breed to control weight, but thanks to Burns we can. We also give them Burns as treat and they love it.

Well done Burns, you certainly keep our girls healthy and very happy.
